All smiles...

So, it's been quite a while since I've made a post. Riley is now 7 weeks old and has been very busy. She has made some major accomplishments in the last several weeks. The obvious one... smiling :) . She's sleeping through the night in her carseat and continues to do so as long as I don't wake her up when she's coughing and gagging. She also took a bottle on the first try! Despite over three weeks of bronciolitis and two weeks of an ear infection, she is eating and sleeping well and seems to be quite happy. She weighed in at 9 lbs. last Monday! She's still wheezing, coughing, gagging, and choking on mucas. She's taking Mucinex, Omnicef, and Albuterol with a few saline drops and a couple ounces of Pedialyte thrown in there. After three doctor appointments in three weeks, I think she's doing better! Here are a few pictures from the last couple weeks. Isn't she cute?





An afternoon with Dad... This is what goes on when I take a nap. She took a bottle for the first time, had a bath, and another bottle! Supposedly, she was cold after her bath so she needed a hat.

Good News First

The good news is that Riley Jane had her one-month checkup on Monday and everything went great. She is now a whopping 8 lbs. 6 oz. and 20 1/2 inches long. She is teeny tiny and very healthy...that was until Monday evening when Billy noticed her raspy voice. Well, she slept for 6 hours that night. Which was odd but much needed by me. When I went to get her she was coughing and coughing, trying to cry through lots of congestion. :( Yikes! We went back to the doctor Tuesday morning so now we're doing saline drops and Pedialyte to fight the mucus. This is a picture of her resisting the Pedialyte (love the crazy hair 24/7). This is viral and could last 2-3 weeks. It's hard for any of us to sleep with her gurgling and coughing up mucus all night. She is such a sweet little baby even when she's sick.

One month old!

This was a big week for Riley Jane. She met her Aunt Emily and cousin Rebekah who flew all the way down from Iowa! We also took a road trip with Billy to Bastrop and went down to visit Mimi and PawPaw for a few days in Shiner. Here are plenty of pictures from a fun week.
