Happy Birthday
This has been a busy week already. Saturday was Billy's birthday that we celebrated with his sister, her family and his parents. Sunday night Billy and I saw Brothers at the theater and dined afterwards at Pappadeux. Shrimp Creole is my fav.
William is adorable! He smiles at me every morning when he wakes up. Just the cutest 7 week old. He's growing so fast! He's sleeping well during the day and waking every 4 hours to eat at night. My eyes are still throbbing but it's nice to have that time together- just us.
William and Riley Jane were having so much fun sitting around watching me fold their clothes. So, I went to get the camera. When I came back the mood had changed. Hmmm? I wonder why? Uh maybe William doesn't like having his paci crammed in his mouth. Or maybe it's the pink blanket Riley gave him to use.
Riley Jane helped me decorate Billy's birthday cake. She did the sprinkles. I'd like to say that she did the writing too.
Cutie in her birthday skirt and sparkle shoes.
With Aunt Emily and Rebekah.
All the guys including all three WCMs.
Slumber party!!! In matching nightgowns!!! They were both extremely excited. Lots of giggling and smiling.
Ok these may all look the same to you but I love them!
We're not really into bows...ha ha.
We finally hung the bows.
RJ saying "SHHHH!!!" Vicki is asleep in William's crib.
Riley Jane is SO excited about her new friend Morgan! Morgan and his mom Martha invited us over to play and make cookies today. So fun!! One of Riley Jane's favorite activities. They each had their own bowl so it worked out great! They had so much fun together. Riley is looking forward to seeing him again tomorrow at our first MOPS meeting!
Best part.
We have a busy week ahead with birthday parties, more playdates, dinner with friends, and story time at the library. So stay tuned!

Adeline + Luke
Well, back to our trip to the mall. Whew! Here's what you're all wondering (maybe not everyone). Everyday is 10 times busier with two!! I've noticed that Riley Jane behaves better at home (less chance of her wondering off or getting kidnapped= more relaxed, happy mom) and William behaves better when we're out and about. Btw, he's giving me the stare down right now for swaddling him and plugging him with the paci. Anyways, it's a toss. I don't know if they're getting louder or I'm getting less sleep. The left eye headaches return every morning. I'm so incredibly happy to see their little faces every morning and so extremely grateful I don't have to get us all dress and dropped off but plainly... I need a nap. We're getting to know our little William better everyday! He looks kinda like me so that's fun. I feel torn daily to give each one the exact amount of attention and smiles. Not even remotely realistic. Am I the only mom who feels like a traitor? Everytime I'm playing with William and Riley Jane looks over, I feel the need to explain myself...?!?!?!? I just want them both to feel loved. Am I the only crazy mom that's felt this way? I want to workout, keep the house clean, and have enough mental energy to have a adult conversation with Billy in the evening, but it's just impossible. One thing I have accomplished- Daily Lit is now free. So I can read books while I nurse and Riley Jane gets for morning fix of Max and Ruby. You can read books in short installments by email or RSS. 20 minutes a day of using my brain makes a world of difference for me. Riley Jane fell asleep in the car on the way home from the mall and has not fallen back asleep. She's yelling "Mama! I'm awake in Ibim's bed!" Ibim just fell asleep in my arms. I better go get her before she learns how to crawl out of her crib.

Little Buddies
We drove down to Shiner for Thanksgiving as you know (4.5 hours), drove to New Braunfels for my cousin's baby shower on Saturday (1.5 hours), to Driftwood for lunch at the SALTLICK on Sunday (1 hour), and then back home to Argyle on 281 (5.5 hours)! There was no crying in the truck the entire way there and back. Amazing. William slept almost the entire time. When he was awake, he was happy. Riley munched on Tic Tacs and read books to sleeping Ibim. At one point the rain got kind of loud and Riley was a bit confused and scared. We told her that it was just water. So she was telling all the cows we drove past "It's just wa-wa cows. The cows' hair is wet." The drive home through the hill country was beautiful and definitely worth going an hour out of our way to avoid I35. What a fun weekend!
Riley still loves her "baby bro" as she calls him. He doesn't mind her much either.
William: "Why are you holding my hand again?"
My sweet friend, Lindsey came to see William.
Yes, he's just as adorable in real life.
This is how we calm him down. I've always had a hard time swaddling babies just because it looks so uncomfortable to me. But, it's been the only way to calm him down when he gets upset. Babies get what they want around here.
My night portrait setting on my camera ... kind of a cool pic.
Ibim picking his nose in his sleep. Yes, he's huge.
Can't get enough of the choo-choo trains.
