Another Birthday is coming.

Riley Jane WILL turn two. She hasn't yet. I'm in denial but I know it will happen (in 6 days.) Such a happy idea but sad when we think about how fast she has grown and how little we have on video. 'B' and Mamama hosted a little cake and ice cream party to celebrate her 2nd birthday with our family. Of course we couldn't stop there. We made cookies with pink M&Ms and chocolate frosted cupcakes topped with Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. Yum is right. It was so fun seeing everyone and Riley Jane had a blast. It seems like as she grows, her eyes get brighter and her smile bigger. She had lots of birthday hugs for everyone. She has such a sweet little heart.

We are SOOOO looking forward to the new addition to our family. As of this evening, I would describe WCM IV as very strong and full of zip. He kicked so hard tonight, I actually shrieked a little while watching Iron Chef. Let's just say my ribs will never be the same. I know that after he is born I will miss the midnight jolts and after-dinner jabs in my side. My OB appointment on Friday went great. His heart beat was rapid (in a good way). :) I still love to see Dr. Gunby's eyes light up everytime he hears the baby's heartbeat, as if he hasn't been hearing it 20 times a day for the last 30+ years. I tried to convince him to move my due date up but he wouldn't. I'm going to round down and say we have about 7 weeks to go. What will Baby Billy be like?? Can you even imagine a boy version of me???
Check out the pics below of the party. You'll notice Riley Jane's bow matches the bows on the cupcake stand. Couldn't resist.

Ah yes, Riley Jane, 'B', and a lollypop. Such a rare sight (yeah right).
Riley Jane embarrased that everyone is singing to her. So funny! She had her hand over her mouth like "WOW!!"

Jackpot!

I think I found something for Baby Billy to wear home from the hospital! I'm not sure why, but it's such a special thing for me. Maybe because my mom kept the dress I wore home from the hospital. I thought that was so cool when I was little. Here's what I found for Baby Billy. So tough! It's from Mad Sky Kids. A favorite of mine for Riley Jane as well.
Check out Riley Jane almost two years ago in her 'going home' outfit! I found it at Jacadi. I wanted to get something there for Baby Billy too, but...well...how do I say this?? Let's just say Jacadi doesn't put monster trucks or camo on their clothing. Maybe it's a French thing.

2 months to go!!!

I can't believe we're already closing in on two months left until Baby Billy is here! I've got his crib bedding set up but the decorating isn't quite done. We'll make a Hobby Lobby run this morning. He is as busy as ever and leaves Dr. Gunby wide-eyed every time he checks his heartbeat. So fun! That was the only good thing about sitting in the hospital for 24 hours- I was hooked up to a heart monitor and we listened to Baby Billy's heart beat all night. So sweet. Oh yeah and we got another sono out of it too! :) I will have to scan it in. I think he looks like me! I can't wait to play with tonka trucks and hot wheels. So on to Riley Jane. Oh Riley Jane. That name suits her so very well. Yesterday she was sitting in time out. For the first minute, she just sat there and stared at me, playing with her diaper. Then she started dancing with her upper body only (not breaking the rules of staying seated up against the wall) trying to make me laugh. She was smiling really big and squinting her eyes trying to be funny. It was so funny. And it was very hard to ignore. Whew. Time ran out before I broke thank goodness. Another funny timeout story- before we went into a gift shop yesterday (with many breakable things) we had a talk. I explained that she had to told my hand and that everything in the store was 'no touch.' She said 'ok Mama.' When we got out of the car she grabbed my hand and we walked in the store. She looked around the store and then looked at me and said, 'I want time-out.' So she walked over to an empty wall and sat down. ha! so funny. I guess she knows her limitations. She's lovin her books right now too. She'll sit and listen to some pretty long ones on her own accord. Every once in a while she'll be walking around the house, bored, swinging one arm (like Tess) and she'll come out of her room with a stack of books for me to read to her. So sweet. She knows there's no chance of me leaving this air conditioned house if I don't have to. :)

Here are some other things keeping her entertained right now:
  • Standing at the door and ordering Cisco in the dog kennel. (he doesn't even get up)
  • Pretending to drive the riding lawn mower
  • Feeding Cisco her snow cone/popcicle.
  • Curious George
  • Eric Carle's ABC book - tells us 'No, I want to look at H...and then turns back to that page.
  • Eat Up Gemma!- Thanks Aunt Emily!
  • Eric Carle's Head to Toe- (It's back on top.)
  • Anything Sesame Street
  • Chips and Salsa
  • Curious George
  • Her new DC tennies (wants to sleep in them-it's happened)
  • Freight Train book- everytime the train goes by, she's reminded of the book and we read it for the 10th time that day.
  • Splash Park!

Well, I misplaced her Goodnight Moon book somewhere (it's probably in one our cars-too hot outside to go look.) So for the last couple of days she's been asking for it. Yesterday she said she wanted to read it with her eyes. I told her that was a good choice. Better than using her foot or something. She thought that was funny. Strangely, she's also come up with a love for chocolate milk. Not sure how she found out about it. Whoever introduced it to her fess up!

Splash Park

So today started out like any other...with Elmo and a Kashi bar. As soon as I told Riley Jane we were going to the Splash Park, she said "B! Mamama!!" Well, I had to explain to her that we were actually going to meet the Kemps in Bedford and that we could probably go with B and Mamama on Friday...Giggle Giggle. The Splash Park was so much fun!!! Riley was ALL OVER the place. She thinks she can swim so I keep her in arms reach at all times. :)

So fun seeing Staci and her girls!!

This is the slide she went down 20 times. It was kind of tricky since you need someone at the top and at the bottom to catch her. She'd go down without either one if I let her. There were much bigger ones she wanted to go down as well.

Here, Mom, let me show you how I slide!

There's the entrance.

She crawls in by herself. She wanted to go down on her tummy once but I put the kabosh on that right away. I know, how boring of me. I did give her a little push though for added speed. She liked it. (Staci was at the bottom to catch her.) My back was killing me after an hour so we headed home early.

This was last week at Chick-fil-a with Sarah and Brandon. Notice all Riley Jane's dipping sauces (by request.)

Also check out Adeline's blog (on my blogroll) for cute pics of RJ and Baby Luke!
