Hospital Visit

The last several days have been pretty scary. On the way to my OB appointment Monday, it was raining and I was in a car accident. I was by myself thankfully but I was very shaken up afterwards. Billy picked me up and took me to the doctor to get checked out. I was not hurt at all but very worried about the baby. Our wonderful doctor, Dr. Gunby, checked me out and sent me to the hospital to get monitored overnight. I am so grateful for him and all the nurses who monitored us all night and answered a million questions for me. They did a blood test and continued heart monitoring right up until I left yesterday morning. I'm going back to the doctor on Friday to get checked out again. The McCords (super-grandparents) came immediately to get Riley Jane and kept her overnight. We are so thankful for them. Whew.

Enough of the drama. The move is on. Everything is officially packed and set for Thursday. That is if Riley Jane stops pulling the tape off the boxes and unpacking them. I know, shocking.

Here are some cute pics of time spent last week with family. Btw, these pics were pirated from Whitney's blog. Olivia had a "Fancy Nancy" birthday party. It was ADORABLE! I mean look at her cute outfit! She is such a cute and (most importantly) FUN girl! She is so sweet to Riley Jane. They had a blast jumping in the bounce house. Notice the bangs are growing out!!

Here's another little doll cousin of Riley Jane's, Kennedy. Kennedy and Riley are only 4 months apart.

Does this pic look familiar? It's because Whitney and I are preggers together again!! Two years ago in June of 2007 we took the pic below this one right before she had Marshall. And here's your belly pic, Em! No, (to all the strangers in the grocery store) I'm not due any day. 13 weeks to go!!

Chicki Boom Boom

Ah things are changing around here. With the help of my mom and dad we got the entire house packed in four days. That's right- 6 months preggers and totally done. Now I can go on bedrest. jk. Not wanting that to happen. Now I will rest. The McCord's have been watching Riley Jane a lot lately to help us speed up this packing progress. It has been extremely helpful as Riley Jane has become exceedingly talkative and busy (could that be?) in the last few weeks. She is adorable and halarious as usual but grows tired of watching me pack. There's only so much Mr. Noo Noo Noo and Oscar the Grouch in the world to go around. Here are the latest developments on her end. Everything is happening so fast. She has another birthday coming up and then Baby Billy will finally be here. He is so ready (So am I!!!!!).

  • Favorite Books include: Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, Big Sister (she finishes the sentences for me in this one), and Goodnight Moon. She has begun reading these books aloud to herself as well. She'll turn the pages and say "OH NO!" and "Goodnight young mouse" along with everything else she sees in the picture. She repeats the alphabet to our delight- making the funniest sound for the letters. And she'll count to ten, repeating the numbers one at a time with the same inflection that we say them and always skipping 8 going straight to 9.

  • The other day at Bed Bath and Beyond we were checking out and she said, "Mommy, look! It's M!" Like it was a person or something. Then she saw another M and pointed it out again giggling.

  • She asks for things ALL DAY. Sometimes it's just because she wants something to talk about. She'll say, "I want....um........crackers! I want...um........milk (then after I pour it)...no...I want orange juice! (then after I drink the milk and pour the orange juice)....i want milk, Mommy. Milk Please! Thank you Mommy." and then she gets up to go bang on the window at the puppies. Those kind of conversations go like this "Where's Daddy? I want to feed the puppies. Where's Mae Mae? Where's Cisco? I want Hee (Hilary). I want Cache."

  • She also has this amazing ability to remember people's names. Names are very important at this stage. She calls me Mom, Mamma, Mommy, and Becky. Everytime she tells me thank you she has to go through all the names.

  • She points to Baby Billy on request.

  • She is still totally psyched about sunglasses, puts them on her head (like me) and says "No No Riley!" and shakes her head. Billy finds this very funny.

  • She will not wear pants or shorts- she says "too tight! it itches!"

  • She climbs in and out of her carseat (sometimes she crawls in the front seat)...patience...patience.... I wish she could crawl up in the grocery cart by herself.

A lot of people are asking me if she will be in a big girl bed when Baby Billy arrives. The definite answer to that question is no. Thanks to my sis-in-law, Emily, we have a brand spankin new white crib for Riley to sleep in until she can clearly say "Mommy, I want a real bed." Until then, I will delight in her containment. Baby Billy will get her nursery furniture and Billy will fill his nursery with dead animals and hunting decor. Might as well get him used to it. Maybe it will help his language skills (ok that's a stretch.)

Baby Billy is still going nuts in there. Sometimes I feel like I'm having triplets. He is 100 times busier than RJ ever was. I must admit, the heat was getting to me, then God sent that cold front and it's been a delightful 95 degrees. Yesterday it was 85 in the car. Glory Glory. My back is still killing me. I'm trying not to pick Doodles up but it's so hard when she puts out her arms and says,"I want Mommy." I love holding her and it makes me sad missing out on that. Maybe this will get her used to having to take turns being held when Baby Billy arrives. My energy level is also depleting. Thus begins the sleep deprivation that will continue until Baby Billy is here and sleeping through the night. I reminded Billy about that yesterday and he said 'Oh yeah, I forgot about that.' Such humor.

The Beach!

The BEACH!! The last several weeks have been so fun and busy. It all started the last week of June when Mimi and Paw Paw came and picked us up and took us back to Shiner. A day later, we were headed to the beach in Port Aransas. It was so much fun!! Ironically there are 63 pictures on this post and none of the actually beach fun. My camera lense kept fogging up so early in the morning and with all the humidity. I did get it all on video though so that's good. Riley LOVED the beach! She took off straight away for the water, laid down on her tummy, and let the waves crash in her face. It was so much more than I was expecting. Just a wonderful experience for us both.

PawPaw and Riley Jane in Arlington before we left.

Mimi!!!

The water hose was a BIG hit this trip. Maybe because Shiner had 14 days straight of temperatures over 100.

What in the world is this? It's the Shiner area phone book (includes 4 towns).

Riley Jane and PawPaw on the ferry in Aransas Pass.

Lunch at The Wharf.

Gecca and Tysie!!!

My sister Jamie, her husband Travis, and their two kids Becca (6) and Tyson (2) joined us at a condo in Port Aransas. It had a great pool and was pretty close to the beach.

First thing in the morning, RJ is knocking on "Gecca and Tysie's" door. Wake up!

Cooking Wheat Thins for breakfast.

Back in Shiner...the kids had their pictures taken on Tuesday then Mimi treated them to their choice of toys at Dollar General. Big hit. Tyson got this cool guitar.

Becca decided she would put Riley down for a nap.

Outfit number 2 (5 minutes later).

Ice cream sandwiches for lunch...

Let the games begin. Tyson and Riley Jane had a ball chasing each other around the house. Up and down the hall and back again screaming and laughing the whole time.

This picture was taken after I walked outside to find Riley Jane skinny dipping in the baby pool. She decided she wanted to then swing so I thought she needed a diaper for that.

Swingin like the big kids.

Yes, this is pool #2. Plenty of fun for everyone.

Aunt Boo came to visit.

Riley Jane's first time at bat.

Look at her swing!

Wild indians (understatement). Yes that is Tyson in the background throwing the iron table into the neighbor's yard.

RJ spent most the week roaming around the house in her bathing suit.

Remember this little guy we went to "visit two months ago?" As of this Monday, he is offically the newest member of our family. His name is Cisco and he is about 5 times this size now! He is the biggest puppy we've ever had and adorable! Riley loves him and asks for him first thing in the morning when she wakes up. More current pictures to come when I can get him to stand still. In other news, we leased our house over the weekend! To say the least, things have been crazy. Traveling, leasing, trying to find a new home, a new puppy, chasing baby girl who is growing up faster than ever, all while expecting Little Billy. Little Billy kicks and punches constantly with both hands and feet. He moves around so much sometimes it seems like I can feel him splashing around in there. He is 100 times busier than Riley Jane was. I so hope we can find somewhere to live soon and get settled well before he arrives.
