Books and More Books!!!

What fun! Everyones know how much I love children's books so it was very fitting for Petie to throw her favorite great neice-in-law (is there such a thing?) a BOOK SHOWER!!!! I was delighted and amazed by all the wonderful books we received for Riley. It was so very special! Everyone brought books they loved reading to their own children or books they picked out especially for little Riley. It was so nice to spend time with family and friends of our family. Once again, I feel so blessed to have loved ones who are just as excited about Riley's arrival as I am. Check out the pics below- I am huge... 16 days until her due date. Wardrobe courtesy of Aunt Betsy.

Whitney! What in the world are you saying?? You look totally shocked! Maybe it was something I said!!!

No Rest for the Wicked

...is what my mom always used to say. The restlessness has set in and sleep comes and goes just like the indigestion. OK maybe I shouldn't have had that spaghetti for dinner last night. Tomorrow is my first 'every week' appointment and hopefully he'll say "you're way ahead of the game!" or "she'll be here any day!" but he'll probably just say "right on track- see you next week." and then he's off to go deliver some lucky baby somewhere. Riley seems to be quite frustrated inside. She's constantly puuuuushing out or down, looking for more room to stretch. That along with the hiccups almost every night cannot be comfortable (her- not me thank goodness). Well, here are some pictures from the baby shower in San Antonio Aunt Barbie, Amy, and Aunt Boo (L-R) hosted. What a great time!

Mom and my cousin Tamara...
My cousin Michelle...

Guests had to guess how big I was around by cutting off a piece of ribbon and then I walked around they measured. Gayle won!! You're good!

Riley got tons of fun stuff! We could barely fit it all in the trunk!

Aunt Kathy (my Godmother) gave it her best shot...

Jean showed up!!! What a treat!

My beautiful neice, Becca. I hope Riley takes after you!

Aunt Kathy and Aunt Betsy...smile! I love you all, thanks for coming! I can't wait for you to meet Riley Jane.

Riley's Nursery

Riley's nursery is coming along very nicely. There are a few more things on the way to make it complete, but all in all I am very excited and think that she will really like it. :)

The framed pictures are of Tyson, Becca, and Rebekah... three people that will surely be among of her favorites.

Riley's things have pretty much taken over. How could we resist?

Betty's 60th Birthday Bash!

Betty's 60th birthday party was a blast! Yummy fajitas, cake, and family in San Antonio at Mamacita's. Betty loved her scrapbook and salt water taffy (imported from Iowa). My camera's battery was going out so I tried to snap as many pictures as I could!

Aunt Boo...where's Barbie? She's here somewhere!

Uncle Bobby with the newest addition to the family on both sides...Tyson.

Dad, the very gracious host... he should seriously consider party planning.

Shiner Baby Shower

Another Baby Shower!! I know- Riley has been very busy. This shower is in Shiner at the Fellowship Hall at church. We received tons of wonderful gifts and had a great time seeing so many close friends.

These are some of the outfits we happily received. We are loving all these beautiful things! Like mother, like daughter.

Two people that I hold very close to my heart, Toni and Jamie. They hosted this wonderful shower. It couldn't have been any better. Also, the cake was not only pretty but delish! My favorite- confetti cake!

Gaylie (Grandmama) made the road trip down to Shiner. We are loving all this girl time together. Just to think- another girl on the way!!

I was so happy to see so many friends (many I consider family.) Here I am with Laura and Ashley.

Becca here, Riley Jane's biggest fan. She calls almost everyday to check on her. She's got big plans for her baby cousin.

Baby Showers Galore!

These are pics from the wonderful shower Adeline, Staci, and Erin hosted in Bedford. Riley got so many fun gifts! It was so fun to see everyone and celebrate Riley's soon arrival.

I'm so glad Betty (Mimi) could make it.

Grandmama and Whitney looking fabulous...

My gracious and gorgeous hostesses with me! From left, Staci, (me), Adeline, and Erin.

Staci out did herself with this scrapbook she made for Riley. It has pages for every month up until Riley's 1st birthday. I know she spent so much time and energy putting it together. What a sweet gift! I will treasure it always.

Fancy cake! That's says "Riley Jane" on the tag.

Stay tuned for more...

Iowa City or Bust

After a 13 1/2 hour drive that seemed like a blink, we arrived in beautiful Iowa City, Iowa. Here are some of my favorite moments. This is after Rebekah's picnic with Grandaddy at the Amana Colonies (a super shopping experience not unlike Guerne.)

Rebekah enjoying some authentic German food at the Ox Yolk...

Em and Rebekah doing some polka on the patio after dinner...

I managed to find a "good quilt" for Riley here. I know she will always cherish it.

Gayle wasn't about to pass this store up. Does that surprise anyone? I think she may have done some early Christmas shopping...
Happy grandparents...

The fam- minus Billy who we missed :( ....

This is one reason I love Iowa City. This is in somebody's front yard. Fantastic!

Did I mention how happy Rebekah was to see me??

Yummy!

There was chocolate on the bottom. Believe it or not, I couldn't even finish it. This was after a trip to all the scenic places in IC, including the Raptor Center. Wow! I saw a real life bald eagle and many other facinating raptors.
